Phodnicha bhaat- Spicy yellow rice

Phodni (tempering) Bhaat (cooked rice) another recipe which you will find in every Maharashtrian household very easy to prepare and loved by all. Give it a try and we are sure you will love it.

Ingredients: (Serves -2)
2 cup boiled rice
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2-3 green chilles chopped
5-6 curry leaves
1 medium onion chopped
2 tbsp peanuts
Chopped coriander
1/2 lemon juice (as required)


Method:

Put oil in pan/kadhai add mustard seeds. When seeds start to pop add chopped onion, turmeric powder and saute for a minute. Now add the curry leaves, green chilles ground nuts and saute till all the spices are mixed thoroughly. Add the boiled rice, lemon juice and salt to taste and mix well. Saute on a medium flame till done.

Now garnish with chopped coriander and it's ready!
* You can also use leftover rice.
