Godacha Shira (Sweet Semolina)

Godacha Shira (Sweet Sheera) - Delicious recipe of semolina and nuts. Treat for sweet lovers.

Ingredients: (serves 2)

1/2 cup Rawa (semolina)
3/4 cup sugar
1-1/2 cup water (boiled)
3 tbsp low fat butter
1/2 cup dry fruit mixture
2 tsp cardamom powder
2/3 threads of saffron soaked in water/milk (optional)


Method:

In a saucepan add butter and semolina. Roast the semolina on a low heat till it turns light golden in color. Add about half of the dry fruit mixture and cardamom powder. Roast for about 5 mins. Now add the boiling water slowly stirring continuously and ensure no lumps are formed. Next add the soaked saffron threads (with water) to get a nice yellow color. Stir.


After the water is reduced add the sugar and stir continuously.Add a little butter for added flavor. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 mins on a low flame. Once done remove from heat and serve it in a bowl. Before serving sprinkle on top remaining dry fruit mixture and enjoy it hot.

P.S This recipe requires quite a bit of stirring which may be tiresome after a while but its surely worth the efforts
